Innovation projects

What we are looking for

We are seeking projects that offer tangible value to your organisation, while at the same time providing a genuine learning experience for our students.

Projects that contain the following elements tend to be the most successful in delivering value to both your organisation and the student team:

  • Professionally meaningful, but not too technical
  • Opportunity oriented rather than problem/improvement oriented
  • Require minimal time for students to get familiar with the ins and outs of your organisation
  • Feasible for students to make meaningful progress in 12 weeks
  • A genuine challenge – ideally, you won’t already have a solution in mind
  • Involve the kind of customers/users who are easily accessible to students / the project mentor (ideally by no later than week 4 of term).

Crafting your project

We will work with you to:

  • Identify possible projects or validate your project ideas
  • Write the project description in a way that is suitable for this program.
Step 1

We meet to discuss the broad areas for projects that are likely to offer the greatest strategic benefit to the organisation. We will walk away with one or more potential project ideas.

Step 2

Our team writes those project ideas up into project descriptions for your organisation to consider.

Step 3

If necessary, we meet again to further discuss or revise the projects.

Now, the project description, as it will be put to the student team, is ready!
